AM Logistic Solutions Implements AutoStore™ System at Fenix Outdoor’s Central Warehouse in Ludwigslust

As a subsidiary of Reesink Logistic Solutions, AM Logistic Solutions has successfully implemented a state-of-the-art AutoStore™ system at the central warehouse of omnichannel retailer Fenix Outdoor in Ludwigslust. Since its launch in June 2023, the 3,000 square meter facility, equipped with over 100,000 bins, has optimized storage capacities and automated processes to accommodate the retailer’s rapid growth in the e-commerce and D2C sectors.

AM Logistic Solutions, acting as the general contractor, executed the project in just six months, ensuring a swift and precise installation. Today, the automated system allows Fenix Outdoor to efficiently manage seasonal peaks that previously stretched the capacity of the 200 employees working in warehouse operations. The facility now operates with 42 R5+ robots picking orders in 16-hour shifts. Approximately 85% of the items are processed automatically within the AutoStore™ system, while the remaining larger items are handled manually. This automation has led to a significant increase in monthly shipping volume, demonstrating Fenix Outdoor’s commitment to efficient logistics solutions.

Positioned as the central element within the 70,000 square meter warehouse, the AutoStore™ system seamlessly integrates with the existing conveyor technology. On one side, it connects to the pallet warehouse for storing overstock, while on the other side, it links to the pocket sorter, manual picking stations, and semi-automated packaging. The system’s 16 Carousel Ports allow for parallel order picking, and the transition to an order streaming model enables more flexible and faster order processing, significantly reducing the workload for employees through the goods-to-person principle.

“The system is fully utilized, but it can be flexibly expanded and thus adapted to our growing requirements. We are currently discussing mirroring the system in the neighboring hall or, alternatively, successively doubling the throughput capacity with the robots and ports used.”
